Pygmy Corydoras (Corydoras pygmaeus) are tiny, armored catfish, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) long, known for their silver bodies, a distinctive black horizontal stripe from snout to tail, and peaceful, social, schooling behavior. Unlike most other Corydoras, they spend a significant amount of time swimming in the water column rather than just on the substrate, making them active additions to nano and planted aquariums. They require a large group (6+), soft sand or gravel substrate, and thrive in well-planted tanks with clean, soft water.
